How come the Dominican Republic isn't complaining about the earthquake? - earthquake sympathy quotes
Deep compassion I am wrong, I feel for people affected by the earthquake in Haiti. But I wonder why the Dominican Republic seem to escape the earthquake in full Antics ... After all, bordering Haiti.
Your opinion?

The epicenter was in Haiti, and the largest city in the country. The Dominican Republic is to the east, and its main population center is in the east of the border.

This is a good word in the circumstances of use.
The seismic waves that even very large earthquakes travel at a short distance from the weakened to the point where you still feel, but cause little or no damage. 6.4 Northrdige (Los Angeles) in 1994, an earthquake in San Diego and Santa Barbara, but not even remotely dangerous. At about the same distance to all major development center in the Dominican Republic.
Destructive waves simply do not travel so far.
Much of the destruction was on a small portion of Haiti, the Dominican Republic are very little damage
